Boat cover project

We were asked to make a protective cover for a boat used to ferry clients around the royal docks to view property.

The vessel had to pass under a very low bridge and stood only less than a meter above the water.

The cover needed to protect the vessel form the elements but also from projectiles thrown by late night revellers.

It also need to be fitted or removed quickly.

We used ash hoops to raise the cover above the boat
We chose Sunbrella acrylic canvas for the cover and designed and made stainless steel fittings for the battens.
These fitted through eyelets on the cover and existing fittings on the boat.
The cover was tensioned out to the front and rear using stainless steel ratchets.
The finished cover successfully protected the boat and could be fitted or removed in only a couple of minutes.
